We change your little help into a big help for people in need.
We cannot help everybody – but we can help some. And we do it!
LittleBigHelp stands out among organizations due to its unique origin story. It was founded by Lisbeth Johansen, a woman from Denmark who, upon traveling to India, was deeply moved by the pressing issues affecting children, including child rights violations, addiction, illiteracy, and the pervasive impact of poverty. Witnessing the plight of children, particularly those living on railway platforms and streets, prompted a transformative shift in her vision.
Moving away from a corporate perspective, Lisbeth Johansen adopted a visionary approach. Gathering a dedicated team, she set out to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these vulnerable children. The organization, grounded in the principle of empathy, commenced its journey towards positive change in 2012.
LittleBigHelp began its endeavors with the establishment of a primary school in a slum and an open shelter in Howrah. Over time, the organization has expanded its footprint, introducing additional initiatives such as community centers, Boy’s Homes, Girl’s Homes, and more. These efforts aim to address a range of issues, including education, rehabilitation, supplementary nutrition, skills training, and disaster preparedness.
The organization's commitment to empathy is evident in its multifaceted projects, each tailored to address specific challenges faced by the community. By focusing on content-specific issues, LittleBigHelp seeks to create a lasting impact on the lives of those it serves. The journey that started with a vision to improve the circumstances of children in need has grown into a comprehensive effort to bring about positive change and uplift communities facing adversity.
LittleBigHelp India Trust works to create better opportunities for vulnerable children and women in West Bengal, India. We work to secure basic child rights such as education and protection along with women’s empowerment through skill development.
In 2012, LittleBigHelp was registered in India as LittleBigHelp India trust and has FCRA, 80 G Tax exemption and hold Registration number: IV-056162012.
